The British Museum: Up Close and Personal

The British Museum is SOOOO big. Eight million permanent objects! WOW! How do you make sense of it all? What are the must-see objects? Where to start?

Answer: right here with London City Steps - on our walk you will spend 90 minutes seeing 15 masssively important, fascinating artefacts in detail, at a relaxed pace and in a small group. Our tour, put together by a Cambridge University-educated ex-official British Museum guide, focuses on some of the most famous artefacts (Assyrian Friezes, Rosetta Stone, Ramesses bust, Lewis Chessmen, Cyrus Cylinder, the mummies, the Mayans to name just a few) and often tells you about the personal stories behind the objects.

Group sizes are limited to a maximum of 8 people to not ruin the intimate atmosphere of the quieter rooms, and at the end of the walk we'll answer questions on any other parts of the museum or areas nearby in beautiful Bloomsbury that you might want to visit.

Please note at present we are only able to take advance payment for this walk. Just click the yellow button on the right to be taken to the secure Eventlink website. You will be emailed with details of the exact meeting place.
